7 Match Star Ratings For WWE Survivor Series 2021

3. RK-Bro Vs. The Usos

Uninspiring and familiar but as well-performed as you'd expect, given the talent involved, RK-Bro Vs. The Usos was just another WWE Survivor Series 2021 match: polished, well-worked, futile.

Riddle played the face-in-peril very well, but again, what was he fighting for? Why was he so bothered about biting through the pain and blasting Jimmy Uso with a kick that drew on his last reserves of strength? He wasn't defending his title, there was no real pre-existing grudge. The usual bullsh*t of "momentum" - which is such empty, cheap b*llocks designed to excuse WWE building matches via matches for the sake of effort-free content churn - doesn't apply, either. He wasn't trying to build momentum in this rivalry because there isn't one. As ever, the audience was left to determine that competitive spirit drove the match.

Orton looked motivated for his record-breaking match which, not to piss on the guy's chips or anything, scans as an indictment of WWE's creative process as much as it does an individual career achievement. The snap on his scoop power slam hot tag was timed impeccably, but that's to be expected. He has performed a variation of that sequence for almost two decades. It's nice and impressive that a mechanical watch lasts a lifetime, but the ticking just becomes a matter of course after a while.

Nobody will emerge from this experience having truly felt anything. Nobody involved will do anything interesting moving forward from the result.

It just existed.

So much of WWE just exists.

Star Rating: ★★★¼
