NXT TakeOver; WarGames was the making of Velveteen Dream. There is still some way to go with Patrick Clark, but anyone doubting the potential and ability of the 22-year-old must be convinced now. Dream came up short against Aleister Black in Houston, but looked fantastic in a valiant loss.

So what now for Velveteen Dream? The former Tough Enough competitor needs to stay in the spotlight, and he could do with picking up a big win along the way. Who better to face than the man whose character is ‘puts up a fight and then loses’?

An argument can be made for putting Johnny Gargano against Andrade "Cien" Almas in the main event, or even putting Johnny Wrestling as the next roadblock in Lars Sullivan’s path of destruction. Gargano is almost in stasis until Tommaso Ciampa returns, so he can pick up tough losses and not suffer so much. Velveteen Dream vs. Johnny Gargano could be the best move for both men right now.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
