7 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (March 10)

1. WWE Network Needs Scrubbing

On a week in which WWE edited out the loud and conspicuous "Roman sucks!" chants from the official Monday Night RAW YouTube highlights of the show-closing Roman Reigns/Undertaker segment, it bears repeating that there is much in the way of megastar racism lurking within the recesses of the WWE Network.

Roman Reign cannot be criticised, but a bit of casual racism is absolutely fine. If you have a problem with it, sucks to be you, triggered SJW snowflake.

Booker T's infamous "Hulk Hogan, we comin' for you n*gga!" botch remains unedited in the WWE Network rebroadcast of WCW Spring Stampede 1997, but that's a philosophical discussion for an entirely different forum. What isn't debatable is Hulk Hogan's unseemly WrestleMania IX interview, in which he claimed Bret Hart's success made him question Hulkamania itself. That's why he issued an immediate challenge to Hart - "or the j*p, brother!"

That "j*p" was the Samoan American Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoa'i, so technically his awful racism wasn't entirely accurate, but the fact that Hogan's left eye had been blackened beyond recognition didn't really help his cause. He more resembled a Bond villain than an all-conquering American hero. What a fantastic decision it was to have him replace Bret Hart as the top babyface in the company.

Accurate racism was the domain of Shawn Michaels, who with depressing ghastliness filled in on the RAW commentary booth throughout 1998. He lent his tones to a six-man tag team match pitting Taka Michinoku and Too Much vs. Kaientai in which he commented upon the amount of nip-ups in the match.

There were none, but it drew a good giggle from - who else? - Jerry Lawler.
