5. Sami Zayn's Push (!) Is No More

The Wrestling Observer recently reported that, owing to the impending returns of Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor, we have seen the last of Sami Zayn's recent push.

What?

Sami Zayn was treated like a jobber taking part in a Kurt Angle invitational match in his televised series with Braun Strowman. He was awarded some victories over Chris Jericho, but then again who hasn't? Zayn was then used to put Samoa Joe over as a monster heel. Their match at Fastlane was a three minute squash played out at three times its natural length. It was a dire choice of pay-per-view opener.

If WWE considered that a push, it bodes terribly for Zayn's future prospects. It doesn't help that Stephanie McMahon mentions with some frequency (and funnily enough, zero chance of a payoff) that she simply doesn't like him. This is no "B+ player" schtick. Zayn isn't going to headline WrestleMania. He's going to make up the numbers in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Where Zayn goes next is anybody's guess. WWE only saw him as a punching bag - and that's before they decided to job him out.
