7 Most Notorious Randy Savage Urban Legends

5. He Would Keep Elizabeth Under Lock And Key

Story: Aware of leering eyes behind the curtain, Randy Savage tried his best to keep Miss Elizabeth away from other wrestlers. Taking things one step further, Savage would instruct Elizabeth not to leave his private locker room during his matches. In other words, his wife and lover was a prisoner, constantly under instruction from Randy not to socialise with anyone else in the company. Taking things to an even more extreme level, Elizabeth wasn't really allowed out when back home. This didn't sit well with many friends of the couple, who felt Savage was more than a little controlling over her. The woman was clearly beautiful, but Randy's domineering personality served to wreck their relationship, more than keep Elizabeth by his side. Why People Believe It: This is a common legend, one backed up by many others who were around the couple in the WWF. Everyone from Hulk Hogan to 'Mean' Gene Okerlund has stated that Savage did indeed keep Elizabeth under lock and key. Hogan even once told that Elizabeth came to his own family home, asking to stay with them to get away from Savage's intense scrutiny. Should We Believe It: There's at least some truth to this, but it's obviously all conjecture. Who can say for what sure happened in their own home, but it's difficult to imagine that everybody who has commented on Elizabeth being shut away at WWF events can be fabricating the story.
