7 Most Notorious Randy Savage Urban Legends

1. Savage Had An Affair With A Young Stephanie McMahon

Story: As one of the biggest stars in the whole of the WWF, Randy Savage was often permitted to stay at the McMahon family home. A trusted member of the roster, he was almost like a son to Vince McMahon. It wasn't uncommon for Vince to play father figure to his wrestlers, and he was reportedly very close to Savage. At first, it seemed that McMahon was willing to accept that Randy had decided to depart the WWF and sign for WCW. His spiel on Raw, during which he wished Savage all the best, proves this. Later, McMahon would refuse to bring the wrestler's name up. This massive change confused many, but there have long been rumours that Vince's hatred was born out of him finding out about a romantic relationship between Savage and his daughter Stephanie. Why People Believe It: This is one of the most infamous urban legends in all of pro wrestling. Vince's sudden shift in attitude towards Randy Savage does seem a little weird. After all, why would he suddenly become angry at the man for something (a move to WCW) which he had seemingly already accepted? Then there was a video that did the rounds online in the early 2000s with an in-character Savage cutting a promo and threatening Triple H that he would take his girl, mentioning Stephanie by name. This only added fuel to the fire. Should We Believe It: Without concrete proof, it seems this one will never be solved. It's unlikely that either Vince McMahon or Stephanie is going to come out and address any rumours at this point. Lanny Poffo has said that he believes a romantic relationship did happen, but the answers can only really come from Stephanie or Randy himself. Obviously, due to Savage's death, that's not going to happen. Stephanie certainly isn't going to come out and confirm or deny, so this one looks set to live on in IWC infamy.
