7 Most Ridiculous Ways To Build Towards WWE Matches

5. Raven Puts Moppy In The Wood Chipper (Raven Vs. Perry Saturn, Unforgiven 2001)

Moppy Woodchipper RIP in peace

As the WCW/ECW 'Invasion' storyline raged on around him, Perry Saturn fell in love with an inanimate mop in mid-2001. That is not a joke, the man literally ditched Terri Runnels following what was called 'extensive head trauma' suffered during several matches and started cuddling up to a common household floor mop.

Naming the item 'Moppy', Saturn did manage to glean some laughs from the regular audience, people genuinely seemed to enjoy seeing Perry dote on the mop whilst cutting childlike promos. As a lower-card comedy act, Saturn's new character was fine. Even so, it was pretty strange to see what happened next.

Leading into the Unforgiven pay-per-view that September, management were interested in promoting a feud between Saturn and his old Flock leader Raven. Therefore, Raven captured Moppy and demolished the object in a wood chipper.

Distraught, Perry managed to get some measure of revenge by beating Raven at Unforgiven. Many claimed the loopy gimmick was punishment for legitimately hammering a jobber named Mike Bell in an enhancement match. Whatever the case, it was utterly ludicrous to see Raven merrily 'kill' Moppy.
