Whereas Perry Saturn's character was instructed to grieve over a mop, The Big Show's situation in late-1999 was more serious. Hit with the news that his father had passed away, Show was then horrified to hear The Big Boss Man poke fun at the family tragedy. As if that wasn't bad enough, things went off the rails as the WWF moved towards Armageddon 1999.

On that pay-per-view, Show was scheduled to defend the WWF Heavyweight Title against Boss Man. The match would end up lasting a scant 3 minutes, a duration that only made the elaborate build for the title bout seem even more bizarre.

Attending his father's funeral, Show once again looked on as Boss Man invaded. This time, the heel attached a tow line to the coffin, dragging it along behind his car. Not wasting any time, Big Show jumped on top of the casket, turning the skit into something more akin to a sequence from Scooby Doo than anything heartfelt.

The fact WWF management felt the need to resort to this kind of thing for a 3-minute pay-per-view match proves that not everything was golden during the Attitude Era.
