7 NXT Vs. WWE Main Roster Matches That Simply Must Happen

What dream matches are waiting for NXT's best talents?

When NXT arrived in 2010, it was like a poor game/reality TV show, a world of pros and rookies doing idiotic challenges and occasionally having matches. Fast forward five years, and NXT is consistently putting out the best wrestling television every week, combining compelling stories with some of the best in-ring action going. To call it developmental now seems a little disrespectful and, at the very least, it is now it's own separate third brand. Even so, those who perform well at Full Sail University are inevitably destined to make the move up to RAW and SmackDown. The idea of this being a 'promotion' has quelled a little, but most would still claim that this is the aim, to perform in front of the largest crowds on the biggest stages, and hopefully get that WrestleMania moment that all WWE performers crave. The main roster isn't exactly lacking in talent either, and some of the prospective matches between those there and those to come are mouth-watering to say the very least. I've identified a (magnificent) seven NXT versus WWE main roster matches, some steeped in history and some steeped in a personal wish to see the styles come together. These simply must happen.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
