7 Positives From WWE Royal Rumble 2015 That Shouldn't Be Overlooked
3. John Cena Is Out Of The WWE Title Picture For Now
It feels as though John Cena is almost always in the WWE Title picture. It gets so repetitive to see him either challenging or defending the WWE Title. Last year he competed in six WWE Title matches on PPV (Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, Battleground, SummerSlam and Night of Champions) and the title was defended on nine PPVs. Do we really need to see him in WWE Title matches that often? No. During the Royal Rumble post show, Cena was doing an interview when the angry Bulgarian turned "Russian" Rusev stormed onto the set to rant about losing in the Rumble match. That led to Cena getting mad because he was trying to talk. They went face to face literally before other midcard wrestlers broke it up. Getting Cena out of the title picture is a great thing. It frees up other people to compete for it. You know that by the summer we'll see Cena going after it again because that's what always happens, so enjoy the Cena break for now. What WWE shouldn't have done with Rusev is put the US Title on him. It's not like Cena is going to challenge for the that title or care about winning it if he does. That was an error in judgment by the creative team because it really hasn't helped Rusev or the title at all. The Cena/Rusev feud could be pretty good. Rusev has a lot of potential and his manager Lana is a great talker, so they could do some interesting stuff. Let's hope for the best. It's better than thinking about the worst.
