7 Predictions For Ronda Rousey's UFC Return
1. With A Win, She'll Be The Next UFC Fighter To Attempt Holding Two Belts At Once
The big news in the UFC earlier this month was the creation of a women's featherweight (145lbs) division, which is 10 pounds north of Rousey's bantamweight class, and a division she previously fought at.
Shockingly, the most feared female on the planet, Cris Cryborg, who fans have wanted to face Rousey for years, did not get the first crack at that belt. Instead, the woman who beat Rousey, Holly Holm, will fight to be the first UFC women's featherweight champ against Germaine de Randamine.
They're creating a female 145lb division for a reason. Two actually. One, is that the UFC's new owners seem to be having a problem finding title fights to headline events. Second, and this may be a bigger factor, is that should Rousey win at UFC 207, and Holm at 208, they could have a champion vs. champion rematch between the two on their hands. That could break records, and make Rousey (or Holm) the second fighter after Conor McGregor to simultaneously win two belts in the UFC.
For all of Rousey's flaws (many of which were revealed after her first career loss), it's hard to bet against her.
