For the first time in eight years, WWE will host a pay-per-view by the name of No Mercy this Sunday. The show will be a SmackDown Live exclusive one, and is headlined by a marquee triple threat match for the WWE World Championship between AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and John Cena. None of these three men are on the poster however.

No, that role goes to current WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his wife/valet Maryse. At the show, Miz will put his title on the line against perennial secondary champion/contender Dolph Ziggler, only this time the match comes with a caveat; Dolph's career is also on the line.

Since the stipulation was added to the match many have lamented that it makes the bout a foregone conclusion. Ziggler isn't going to retire, is he? Nah, he's too valuable to the company, he's got way too much to offer and way too much left to achieve, so he can't be going.

But what if he is? What if this Sunday represents a low-key goodbye from the Show-Off, and his final WWE match will see him staring at the lights (albeit through eyes full of whatever it is Maryse keeps spraying at him) after coming up short once again? Here are seven reasons why that could be the case.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
