7 Reasons Roman Reigns Should Beat The Undertaker At WrestleMania 33

4. A Win Does Nothing For The Undertaker

Simply put, Roman Reigns gains far more from defeating The Undertaker than The Undertaker gains from defeating Roman Reigns. At this stage in his career, there’s absolutely nothing left for The Deadman to do. He has accomplished everything he set out to achieve, his WrestleMania record will never be matched, and if he retired tomorrow, he’d be among the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history.

Winning a match should always elevate the victor, but there’s nowhere for 'Taker to be elevated to anymore. He has already transcended superstardom to put himself on a level that goes far beyond mere championships and accolades, and at 52, he’s not exactly going to be the subject of another long-term main event push. Winning at WrestleMania 33 would do absolutely nothing for The Undertaker, whose place in history is already secure.

The argument looks even stronger if this is indeed The Undertaker’s final match. Old school wrestling tradition states that a departing wrestler will use their legacy to put somebody else over in their final match, and 'Taker is the most “old school” man in the business. If this is the end, gifting his final opponent with a huge WrestleMania moment is the right thing to do.
