5. Not Enough Established Teams
As mentioned previously, last year's brackets were stacked with true teams; Enzo & Cass, The Mechanics (now The Revival), Gable & Jordan, Lucha Dragons, The Vaudevillains, Blake & Murphy, Ciampa & Gargano, The Hype Bros and The Ascension were all involved, as were thrown-together teams featuring top talent like Joe & Balor, Corbin & Rhino, Neville & Soloman Crowe.
The NXT tag team division is struggling at this point. The Revival and DIY are two great teams, but outside of them TM-61 are still finding their feet, Authors of Pain are still working out how to work and SAnitY have just arrived.
Even the thrown together teams don't have the same presence or feel this year; Almas & Alexander, Dillinger & Roode, Ibushi & Itami (now Perkins)? Tag team wrestling is in transition in NXT, and this tournament has come at the wrong time.
