7 Reasons Why Dolph Ziggler Should Be "Traded" To NXT
3. Dolph Ziggler "Losing His Smile" Would Be Best For Business
The idea of Dolph Ziggler losing to Rusev, having Lana turn on him, and ending up at a career crossroads where he "loses his smile" similar to Shawn Michaels in 1995 is best for business. Ziggler coming out to honestly address the crowd about his career and breaking down with some staged tears and sadness about just how hard he's worked and how he wants more for his career would ingratiate him to WWE fans. Dolph maybe even saying that he'd want to hang up his boots and call it quits would be the big moment here, as that's where the room for magic could occur would exist. The idea of Triple H seeing Dolph backstage, and maybe pulling him into his office for a chat would be intriguing. The next week, Triple H announcing backstage that even though he's a bad guy, he knows talent when he sees it, and he also knows -- via his good buddy Shawn Michaels -- about guys "losing their smile." He could then say that he's worked out a deal with William Regal to send Ziggler to NXT so that he can "find his smile again." Sending Dolph into NXT with a storyline that he wants to find his passion for "wrestling" is ideal, as that sort of push is certain to curry favor with the NXT fanbase.
