7 Reasons Why WWE And UFC Are In Competition

They may not be the same type of "sport" although they compete in other ways.

Vince Mcmahon Dana White There was an interesting bit of news this week with WWE executives Triple H (Paul Levesque) and Stephanie McMahon taking part in what was called a "Fireside Chat" with investors. It was something that we had already covered here. What was interesting about the chat was when Triple H discussed the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) and whether or not they were competition with WWE. In his mind they are not. Here's an excerpt of what he said. "We create characters that you gravitate towards, that you connect with, that you passionately engage with, you believe in on a visceral level, whether you hate them or love them. We put them in unique storylines with creative passions and good guys and bad guys and the drama and sometimes love throws.Who€™s gonna go back and watch boxing from five years ago, you€™re not, or UFC, it€™s the same thing, it€™s the same component. But our product is evergreen, because it's the characters and the stories that you engage in, that€™s what makes a passionate fan of the WWE and it's lifelong." He makes great points there as well as through the chat that he had. No denying that. However, there are ways that WWE is competing with UFC too. The big difference between the two companies is that WWE presents itself as sports entertainment meaning that it's presented like a sport although we all know it's scripted. In UFC it's a pure sport. There are wins and losses. There's no script. Both companies are successful at what they do and have no reason to change it up. With that in mind, here are seven reasons why WWE and UFC might be considered competition.
