7 Reasons WWE Fans Don't Care About John Cena Vs. Randy Orton

2. This Is Their 5th PPV Meeting Within The Last Year

When Cena feuded with Orton in 2007 it was fine. The rivalry was fresh and both guys were clearly stars on the rise. In 2009, it wasn't great, but at least they were established top stars. It made sense for them to have a rivalry. In 2013 as well as 2014 it just doesn't have any kind of special appeal to it at all. Here's a look at their PPV matches in the last 12 months. TLC - They had a match to unify the WWE & World Titles. It was a TLC match that Orton after some craftiness. Royal Rumble - Cena got his rematch. He lost because the Wyatt Family interfered. Elimination Chamber - Even though Cena lost at the Rumble, he got another rematch as one of the five challengers in the Elimination Chamber. Once again it was a win by Orton after Wyatt Family interference. Money in the Bank - With the WWE Title vacated, they were two of the competitors. Cena got the win to become the new WWE Champion. Battleground - Cena defended the WWE Title in a Fatal Fourway that included Orton, Roman Reigns and Kane. Cena won. They will have been in the same match at 5 of the last 11 PPVs. It's too much.
