7 Reasons WWE Fastlane 2017 Absolutely Sucked

5. Ending Charlotte's PPV Streak

A few weeks ago all signs (and booking logic) seemed to point to the idea that Bayley would receive her crowning moment at WrestleMania 33. That show, more than any other is traditionally about sending the crowd home happy and her winning her first women's title would be an ideal "Mania moment".

Then she surprisingly wins the belt from Charlotte and takes all the air out of that angle. But there was one saving grace that kept the hope for that moment alive, one detail still lingering that presented an obstacle for "The Hugster" to overcome.

Charlotte's undefeated pay-per-view streak.

Fans and observers fully expected Charlotte to walk out of Fastlane with the title - which would put her on pace to match her father's record-setting amount of world championship reigns in about four months - and head into Orlando as the champion.

Rumors were that WWE was working toward booking a four way for the title involving these two, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax, and while that could still be the case, Bayley defeating Charlotte on ppv lowers the stakes for that bout considerably.

The best decision now would be to have Sasha turn heel and challenge her best friend for the championship. In fact, during the post-show episode of Raw Talk I kept wishing that Banks would reach across the table and smack Bayley in the mouth, reestablishing herself as "The Boss" to set up a chance for the two ladies to recreate their magic from NXT.
