7 Reasons WWE NXT Takeover II: Fatal 4-Way Was Worth $9.99

5. The Ascension Is Ready To Rise To WWE

For more than 11 months, Konnor and Viktor dominated the NXT tag team scene, to the point that they were literally begging for competition. Fans who watched the near-yearlong reign had to wonder why this team was continuing to destroy makeshift duos in NXT instead of moving up to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships. After Fatal 4-Way, it looks like fans might get their wish. The Ascension already made their WWE debut on Main Event on Tuesday, but after dropping their tag titles and getting chased off by KENTA (more on him in a bit), it seems like their ticket out of NXT has been punched. (Think about how Bo Dallas was sent on his way up to WWE.) And really, it€™s sink-or-swim time with The Ascension. There€™s nothing more they can do with them in NXT other than have them start stretching their matches out to more formulaic tag team affairs, but then that would damage their mystique. So it stands to reason that Konnor and Viktor will soon get to test themselves against WWE tag teams such as the current champs, the Usos. For better or worse, it€™s at least different, new and a move forward.
