7 Reasons You Should Watch NJPW Dominion This Weekend
2. Kazuchika Okada Vs. Kenny Omega Part IV
In 2017, Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega had arguably the greatest trilogy of matches in history. First, at Wrestle Kingdom 11, Okada successfully retained the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Omega in an epic contest that earned 6 stars from Dave Meltzer. Months later at Dominion, the two went to a 60-minute draw, and many claim it to be the greatest wrestling match of all time, with Meltzer giving that one 6-and-a-half stars. Finally, at the G1 Climax B Block Finals, in a truncated, but way more physical bout, Omega finally got a victory over Okada to win his block and move onto the finals.
Nearly a year has passed since Okada and Omega have crossed paths, with Okada still in his record-setting reign as IWGP Champion. Both he and Omega have been putting on amazing matches with the likes of Chris Jericho, Tetsuya Naito, and Hiroshi Tanahashi. Even so, fans have been gagging to see another instant classic between these two, and now, the ante has been upped considerably. At Dominion, this championship match will be 2 out of 3 falls and have no time limit.
So if you're watching this show in, say, the US, I would have coffee on standby.
