Fans sang his entrance music not only all the way through that episode of Raw, but in the queues outside the arena and the car parks afterwards. His pop that night was like Stone Cold in 1998. It. Just take a second to consider this gimmick and how insane it was. For weeks, vignettes would advertise the arrival of Fandango. These promo vids were cheesier than a block of Stilton being served by Chuck E. Cheese, and it felt like yet another moment of madness from the brain of Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
However, the feud between Fandango and Chris Jericho was white-hot going into WrestleMania 29. Jericho was in his prime and excellent at goading the sparkly-shirted superstar by constantly getting his name wrong, and Fandango's victory at the Grandaddy of Them All remains one of the biggest upsets in the history of wrestling's biggest event.
