4. He Wanted To Be Paid The Same As Cena, Taker, Lesnar And HHH
As mentioned earlier, Punk complained that he wasn't paid the same as the main players at WrestleMania 29. Punk faced The Undertaker in a match third from the top. Triple H faced off with Lesnar in the match second from top, and John Cena had his title rematch from the previous year with The Rock. Again, similar to his point about Lesnar being allowed sponsors, Punk fails to realise that he simply wasn't at the same level as the people he lists. John Cena has been the WWE's franchise player for the past decade, and Punk seems to have a real problem with Cena throughout the interview, despite claiming otherwise. In other parts of the interview, he says that the WWE writers only ever have plans for Cena and nobody else. He also then complains about how he never got any publicity for his charity work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Well, to quote Vickie Guerrero, excuse me, but I always thought that people did charity work to help other people less fortunate than themselves, not to get publicity for themselves! Lesnar has already been covered, and it is possible that some of Punk's bitterness towards him is due to the fact that it was Lesnar, and not Punk, that broke the Undertaker's streak. As for Triple H, he has been a major player in the WWE for the past two decades and is now in a position of major power in the company. Punk simply doesn't compare to them, and for him to think that he should have earned the same payday for Mania is delusional.
