7 Times The Authority Actually Helped John Cena

5. He Received Title Matches At Royal Rumble And Elimination Chamber 2014

Following Cena's loss to Orton at TLC, he was given a rematch at the next PPV, which was the Royal Rumble. If The Authority really hated the guy, they would have found a way to keep him out of it or make him earn the match since he did lose to Orton fair and square. Instead, he was given that title shot. During their match at the Royal Rumble, the crowd completely turned on the wrestlers. They were not interested in it at all. It should have told management that fans were sick of seeing Cena in this spot month after month. Cena ended losing the match because the Wyatt Family distracted him and Orton hit the RKO to pin him in clean. Cena lost his title rematch. That should have been his last shot. It wasn't his last shot, though. The Elimination Chamber match headlined the next PPV with Cena getting ANOTHER title match even though he lost at the Rumble clean. The Wyatt Family showed up again, Bray hit Sister Abigail on Cena and the fans chanted "thank you Wyatts" for that. Orton covered Cena, so he lost another title match. Cena spent the next three PPVs wrestling against Bray Wyatt, so he was out of the WWE Title picture at least temporarily.
