In the summer of 2010, eight men went out to the ring and caused utter chaos in one of the more impactful debuts of the past decade. These men had been featured on NXT which in 2010 was not the must see show it is today, and you'd have been forgiven for not knowing who they were. However, you may have been aware of Daniel Bryan, a legend on the independent scene.

On an episode of RAW the group soon known as The Nexus were instructed to go out to the ring and be as vicious as possible. One man took this a little too literally, the aforementioned Daniel Bryan, who in the melee turned his attention to ring announcer Justin Roberts, choking him with his own tie in a scene which was not in keeping to WWE's PG rating. Because of this, WWE released Bryan.

Bryan would re-sign with WWE, making his return at that year's SummerSlam event as a member of John Cena's seven man team who were facing off against the Nexus. Bryan had to fight harder than most for everything he has now achieved in the WWE. Who knows how his career would have panned out if he had not been fired? What if, instead, he'd continued to be a part of the Nexus, where despite being the obvious stand out he would have just be a number within a group unable to shine on his own?
