NXT was supposed to enter a new era when Karrion Kross kicked Keith Lee's ass back at TakeOver XXX in August 2020. Then, disaster struck; Kross went down with injury immediately, WWE vacated the belt, and then Finn Bálor swooped in to become a steady hand at the top of the brand's cards.

TakeOver: Stand & Deliver was Karrion's redemption.

It was so cruel that he lost out in the first place, but it's time to put things right. As good as Finn was with the NXT Title, this is Kross' time. WWE must be delighted that he's fit again, and they'll be looking to cement him as a Tuesday night titan going forwards. As for Bálor, who knows what his future holds?

Moving Finn to Raw or SmackDown could suck. He didn't really fit in on the "main roster" after a while, and it's obvious that NXT is the best place for the now 39-year old. A drop down the pecking order at Capitol might not be the worst thing for him - Bálor can still contribute.
