7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Jun 22)

1. Joey Janela/Sonny Kiss vs. Alex Reynolds/John Silver

Ostensibly a warmup for Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela ahead of their Dynamite clash with Colt Cabana and Mr. Brodie Lee, this was several levels about the average Dark match and yet another reason to get excited about the new babyface pairing.

John Silver and Alex Reynolds wrestled as Dark Order members 3 and 4. Brodie sent his troops out to soften Janela and Kiss up before finishing the job on Dynamite, though it was explained that the duo still wrested under masks as they hadn't yet earned the right to compete without them. Another story point, another small detail, and another spot of character enhancement for a guy (Brodie) who wasn't even in the bout.

Kiss and Janela were as fluid as ever, though this was also a great showing from Reynolds and Silver, who have plenty of experience from teaming together on the indie circuit. Silver is the more intense of the two, even losing his mask as a result of kicking Janela too hard at one point, and they have plenty to offer as the Order's lowest-tier tandem.

Sonny took the win, ensuring he and Janela move towards Lee and Cabana with a shot of momentum.
