7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (11 May)

3. Eddie & Jon, Together Again

William Regal

Who else could have stepped in to nullify the Jericho Appreciation Society's numerical advantage opposite Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz but the Blackpool Combat Club?

Homicide and Hernandez, potentially, given their history with the babyfaces, but the BCC were the optimal in-house option.

Jon Moxley's intense personal history with Kingston makes this perfect. Summoned forth when Daniel Garcia declared that every time a wrestler steps to a sports entertainer, they get stomped, the BCC assembled across from the JAS before Eddie, Santana, and Ortiz came from behind, clearing the ring while William Regal sent Chris Jericho to the shadow realm with a perfected worked punch.

This was the evolution that the storyline needed. The JAS' numerical advantage had been emphasised to the point of exhaustion in recent weeks, resulting in a series of repetitive segments. Now, that has been resolved, with Wheeler Yuta's impending Japanese excursion bringing it back down to five on five.
