7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (2 Mar)
5. The Era Of Honor Continues
You might want to check your heart if you didn't feel even the slightest tinge of joy as Bryan Danielson and Christopher Daniels came out for Dynamite's first match. There's a chance you've turned into the Tinman.
This was lovely. Danielson and Daniels (working his first AEW match since May 2021) called back to ROH's first ever main event (sans Low Ki), ensuring a new era of honor would begin following Tony Khan's big announcement. It was a fun, nostalgic clash between two veterans and a real good time, with Daniels playing the hits and Danielson perhaps the best possible dance partner for him at this advanced stage in his career.
CD's signature spots looked good. From the springboard moonsault to the outside to the Best Moonsault Ever, he stuck the landing when it mattered and believably matched Danielson in their counter exchanges. Bryan, meanwhile, showed reverence for the veteran early on, only resorting to his d*ckish tactics when it was clear it'd be easier for him to win this way, finishing Daniels off via triangle choke.
While flexing.
Bryan Danielson is a prick.
