7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 21)

3. Control Your Own Narrative

As a match, Moose defending the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Fallah Bahh wasn't exciting in any way. It was a fine match for what it was, with 'Mr Impact Wrestling' winning a highly basic match with the Lights Out spear to retain the title. You won't be remembering the match in any way, however, the aftermath is what made this an alright moment.

Fresh off his teaser vignette as Slammiversary was going off air, EC3 snuck into the ring behind Moose's back, flooring him with a snap reverse DDT, before simply leaving off to the side of the stage. A simple moment to mark the return of the former World Champion, who, in storyline, isn't under contract to the company if Josh Mathews is to be believed.

Realistically speaking, this part doesn't make perfect sense. EC3 being allowed into the building without a contract while Heath is barred from entering is mind-boggling, however, it perfectly fits this new mysterious character for EC3. The videos he had been posting on his Twitter ever since departing WWE back in April have been tantalising to say the least. Immediately inserting him into a title picture (even if it isn't an officially sanctioned championship) is a perfect way to slide 'The Essential Character' back into the company.
