7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 19 - Results & Review)

Ups...

7. Killing Time (But Killing It Well)

Santos Escobar Angel Humberto Legago del Fantasma

Santos Escobar sneaking in to steal a pin on Carlito during SmackDown's six man was the right call. That's precisely the kind of annoying behaviour heels should get up to, and it keeps things warm for a coming singles between both guys on the Royal Rumble go home episode next week.

Happy days.

Everyone involved here looked good, and there's real promise for Escobar now he's teaming with Angel and Humberto as the new (and improved - no, really) Legado del Fantasma going forwards. Fingers crossed Triple H puts Santos over in a big, big way once Rey Mysterio is able to return too.

Escobar is simmering away rather nicely on the undercard away from the bright lights of main events. He hasn't been pushed too hard or too soon. Instead, Hunter has favoured an old-school approach by showing some restraint and developing Santos as a character first.
