7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (March 26)

2. Edge Marching Into The Lion’s Den

Balls.

Roman Reigns said Edge had them for marching into his dressing room on SmackDown and deflecting their hatred for one another onto Daniel Bryan. Look at the screenshot above to see everything laid out for you; Edge looks desperate, Roman slightly hesitant about trusting him (what a turnaround that is) and Paul Heyman utterly shocked by what he's seeing.

Edge's point about Bryan muscling in on their WrestleMania spotlight was well-made, and it also forced one to think back to the mind games he played as the 'Ultimate Opportunist' many moons ago. If WWE can marry that old vindictiveness with his heartfelt road towards the Universal Title, then Edge might overtake Reigns as the top character in the company.

The best thing about this skit is that it would've been impossible just a month or so ago. Edge and Roman always came to blows, but not here. Although it's true they would later on in the show, that was only when it suited the challenger.

Smart.
