7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 4)

Ups...

7. Taking Big E Out

WWE shouldn't be in any rush with Big E.

They've only just managed to get over the fact that he's a tag-teamer who's now working singles, so it's unrealistic to expect that they could book him as a credible World Title challenger quite yet. It was therefore cool to see them remove him from the running on SmackDown by way of a crunching windshield bump.

Had WWE not booked that, then it would've been a major letdown when E failed to win the Fatal-4-Way. Or, had they gone through with his push and gifted him the victory, he would've been cannon fodder for Roman Reigns at Clash Of Champions. That pay-per-view is subtitled 'Gold Rush', and everyone knows fools rush in.

E vs. Reigns (if it happens) deserves to be a full-blown feud. It certainly doesn't belong as a one-and-done effort on some B' pay-per-view wedged in before Hell In A Cell. In fact, it shouldn't happen on that show either. WWE can afford to take their time here.
