7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (18 April - Review)

2. How Do You Fix Women’s Tag Division?

This is a legit question, because once again, a women’s tag match played out largely to silence, this time with Candice LeRae and Mia Yim losing to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

It feels like just having more heatless matches isn’t the solution at this point. There was nothing really wrong with this tag bout, but it’s hard to get excited for a match both you and the fans care nothing about and aren’t invested in at all. Even having the new tag champs at ringside couldn’t juice things.

Maybe it would be better to take the time allocated to a match and have them cut promos or do some character development. Find a way for fans to get invested in the wrestlers themselves beyond “they’re really good in the ring” before running them out there for a 3-5 minute sprint.

Otherwise, this cycle is going to continue.
