5. 'Johnny Wrestling' Needs His Partner

Johnny Gargano Ludwig Kaiser Giovanni Vinci Imperium

If you needed more straightforward, logical storytelling, then this had you covered.

Johnny Gargano was supposed to be wrestling Ludwig Kaiser one-on-one, but that was never going to be the case with Giovanni Vinci around ringside. Kaiser's Imperium partner interfered on his behalf and ultimately cost 'Johnny Wrestling' the win. Things will be different once Tommaso Ciampa returns and DIY properly gets going again.

DIY vs. Imperium should toss up a cracking series of in-ring belters soon. Also, and this is a key point worth harping on, it's cracking to see non-title feuds in the tag team division. This is how WWE readies challengers for the belts long-term, basically. It's the best way.

Later, GUNTHER chastised his Imperium troops for failing to take Gargano out completely. That mission is still open-ended, but the Intercontinental main man knows it'll be infinitely harder once Ciampa is in Johnny's corner.
