By and large, Damian Priest and Angelo Dawkins have been mainly wrestling in tag team action recently or as part of a faction, leaving singles glory by the wayside.

But that didn’t stop the two of them from having a fun, action-packed Elimination Chamber qualifier for the United States Championship. The opening match was hard-hitting, with Damian and Angelo – both of whom are north of 6-foot-5 – showcasing a hybrid style of power and agility. Dawkins in particular was impressive, busting out a Swanton Bomb for a close 2-count.

Priest managed to win a slugfest, hit the South of Heaven and punch his ticket to the Chamber, but that should take nothing away from Dawkins, who continues to show that if and when the Street Profits go their own way, he’s not necessarily going to be the Marty Jannetty of the group.

And for Priest, this is further evidence that he is still coming into his own as a main roster superstar.
