Who had a CM Punk promo as one of the quieter moments on Raw on their bingo card Monday night?

Conventional wisdom would have said that one of WWE’s biggest names, who’s ensconced in one of the best ongoing feuds with Drew McIntyre, would generate a huge, sustained reaction from fans, but that would be a wrong assertion. Punk arrived to the arena seconds after Drew left, then proceeded to head to the ring and declare he was in Hartford to pick a fight with McIntyre.

Rather than leave it at that, Punk decided to take the show hostage and try to egg the Scottish Warrior back to the arena by urging fans to tweet at him because he loves social media so much. Cute idea, but what followed was Punk giving a meandering promo recapping his journey since the Royal Rumble, with a few insults mixed in.

In what had to be either a self-aware in-joke or an incredibly obtuse moment, Punk declared himself the pettiest man on the roster, and maybe on the planet, then seconds later took a veiled swipe at Jack Perry when he called Drew a choke artist, but noted that he (Punk) was a different kind of choke artist. To make it clear, CM called to Pat McAfee, who gleefully replied “guillotine.”

That line, along with several of his comments, played out to a dull chatter, as Punk looked at his watch several times… and then the segment ended. No Drew, no killer line, just a promise to chase McIntyre to Clash at the Castle… in more than five weeks. This was a total dud of a segment and a rare misfire in the Punk/McIntyre feud.
