7 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 20)

6. One Step Too Far

Last night's Thanksgiving Feast Fight was delivered with an acceptable level of goofiness, the post-match was impossible to watch without cringing.

The New Day, dressed like pilgrims, had just defeated SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar and Big Show. Things then descended into a full-on food fight when Cesaro tried to jump Xavier Woods with a tray of cranberry sauce. He was thwarted, then rag-dolled around the ring with all manner of Thanksgiving foods, swinging blind punches as the trio as his gravy-clouded eyes failed him. Sheamus retaliated by flinging a bowl of sh*te at his rivals, but he and his partner had already been made to look like chumps.

It's not lost on us that content like this is designed for younger audience members. Still, this post-match was a big bag of balls. Though mercifully short, it was the kind of holiday-inspired guff that always plagues shows like this, and we could do without such ideas ever leaving the writers' room.
