7 Ups And 1 Downs From Last Night's NXT (18 March)
4. And You Forget How Great They Are At Telling It
This story might be one of the most compelling WWE have ever done, but that's only because the two men involved have been so consistently spellbinding in the way they've told it. Their characters have morphed numerous times as the pendulum has swung, and it's made for incredible viewing.
Again though, I've not been wholly convinced of late. Ciampa's all-conquering return as the face of the company left him sounding a bit like a dork where, in the past, he was unhinged and intimidating. Gargano too, since his heel turn, has not convinced in the role of retribution.
But here, with both able to mirror the peaks and troughs of their journey together, the nuance in the performances was enough for you to buy into this whole thing completely. It got a bit by-the-numbers at the end, but as an overall package, it's probably the best thing that could have happened for these two on a Wednesday night.
