4. A Cena Sighting!... Sort Of
This item has gotten a pass for a while, but the unspoken absence of John Cena really needs to be noted this week after two direct references to the former United States champ without a single musing about his whereabouts for the past six weeks. Cena hasnt been seen since losing the U.S. title at Hell in a Cell in October. Since then, there have been a couple passing mentions, but nothing in recent weeks. However, on Monday Michael Cole noted that Cena was scheduled to be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday. So he hasnt come back for a U.S. title rematch or to entertain the fans he professes to love so much, but hes well enough to appear on a talk show? And theres nary a concern about where hes been the past month-plus? Later, Zeb Colter mentioned how he knew that Cena was ripe for the pickings when he brought Alberto Del Rio in at HIAC to challenge Cena for the United States Championship. But again, there was no reference beyond that.
