7 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 6)

3. Video Killed The Roman Empire Star

One thing that WWE consistently has done well is put together excellent video packages. The company has been able to make horrible feuds look better than passable with clever editing. And while Mondays dueling videos from Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns perspectives were well done, it begs the question: What was the purpose of the videos?

If the goal was to make Roman out to be a conquering hero, Rollins a dastardly heel and put over the feud at large, then it fell well short. Rollins came across as a man whose dream to be champ was ripped away due to injury, and he worked his way back to reclaim the title he never lost. He looked triumphant in his return.

Reigns, on the other hand, wasnt bad, but it didnt have quite the same soul that Rollins video had. He made sure (of course) to work in his the guy spiel. But aside from pointing out that his family watched him lose the WrestleMania XXXI main event and how he was angry, there wasnt a ton of emotion coming through the television. Compared to Rollins piece, it fell flat.
