7 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night’s WWE NXT (Mar 30)

Ups - 7. Alpha Dogs

The first bout on the show was squash tag match designed to show what American Alpha could do (and the enormous roll the team is on), and it was a major success. Both Gable and Jordan dominated their opponents and looked great doing it. The match was smartly laid out, with Gable working much of the early goings and using a wide array of holds to easily show up his opponent. There was no heat or hot tag, either - while the jobbers eventually hit a couple of moves on Gable, he made his own comeback (including hitting each opponent with a beautiful overhead belly-to-belly suplex) before making the tag to Jason Jordan. Jordan came in with suplexes of his own, and the number one contenders soon finished the bout with the Grand Amplitude. Gable and Jordan have become two of the most popular wrestlers on the NXT brand simply because of how talented they are. This match may have been brief, but they got to show that skill off and the crowd loved it.
