7 Ups And 3 Downs For Last Night's NXT (May 6)

Or; A Midsummer Night's Cole.

One day this will all be over.

We'll reminisce over this incredibly weird period in both wrestling and world history, and crack jokes every single time normality starts to resemble them. "Wow, the crowd really weren't into this match" we'll sneer, "if they'd been any quieter you'd have thought we were back in the throws of the Ol' Covi One Nine for a moment hahaha!". Oh what fun we'll have.

Speaking of fun, and having it, essential service NXT was back again this week, and this time with a card that was arguably even more stacked than last month's FakeOver. Both the major titles were on the line in veritable Dream Matches - one, because it was a fantasy-booked pairing, the other just because someone called Dream was in it - and the Cruiserweight tournament is entering its final stages.

NXT normally only delivers great episodes when you're not expecting them, but surely this was a week when even only 50% of the hype getting realised would still deliver a thrilling two hours of Sports Entertainment. Surely. Join us now on a journey through time, space, and whatever elaborate metaphors Mauro Renalo has scribbled down on his notes.
