7 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 8)

Ups...

7. Mickey Gold Eyes

Last week, this column gave Goldust’s turn in the cruiserweight division a “down” because it just didn’t quite work. So why is he in the positive side this week?

Goldy reverted to his movie-quoting ways, showing up imitating Mickey from “Rocky” to fire up Cedric Alexander before his Cruiserweight Championship match against Enzo Amore. That little exchange, between an established and mostly beloved veteran and an up-and-comer like Alexander did more to boost Cedric than every segment he did last year with Alicia Fox and Noam Dar.

If Goldust isn’t going to be a villain anymore (it looks like that has been completely abandoned), then serving as a mentor/coach/cheerleader for other guys and getting them over isn’t a bad gig.
