6. Gable Stuns Mahal

It had all the makings of a grumbling start: Chad Gable gets mocked by a frustrated Jinder Mahal, so he gets stuck in a match with the former United States champion. Since he has a title match on Friday, you assume that Mahal gets the win to “build momentum” for the Greatest Royal Rumble.

And then Gable pulls a Bret Hart and walks the ropes to reverse a hold to get the pin and upset win.

Just like that, the narrative changed. Mahal was the overconfident heel who now has another reason to scream “Conspiracy!” about his handling on Raw, while Gable gets a much-needed victory to start his Raw career.

Hopefully for Gable, he isn’t jobbing next week to Elias or something like that. The former Olympian is talented and could be something special if given the opportunity.
