7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 24th)

6. Adjusting Stewart€™s Attitude

The SummerSlam column gave Jon Stewart a cautious pass for his interference in the title-for-title match between John Cena and Seth Rollins, opting to wait and see what developed. It looks like the results are in, and it will continue to get a pass. After inexplicably interfering in the dual title match and costing John Cena his United States Championship (as well as a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship), Stewart showed up on Raw to explain himself. He quickly noted that he couldn€™t allow the 15-time world champion to tie the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair with 16 world title reigns, so he did what he thought was right. Even though Stewart€™s intentions were good (well, as good as can be when you hit someone with a steel chair), things went downhill quickly for him when Flair showed up and revealed that he was actually pulling for Cena. That brought out an angry Cena, who fumed and stalked in the ring, cut off Stewart€™s attempts at humor (€œYou€™ve got our punchlines€ how about I have you stand on a line and punch you?€). He then did something a little uncharacteristic: Cena hoisted Stewart up and dropped him with an Attitude Adjustment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxZCRmfV5fw It was a nice €œshades of grey€ moment from Cena, where he retaliated against a popular celebrity (unlike his €œfeud€ with Kevin Federline years ago) and assaulted someone who apologized. A little edge now and again never hurt.
