7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 15th)
1. Leave Family Out Of It
Whether its the right thing to do or a colossal mistake, WWE is moving Roman Reigns away from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene by putting him into a feud against Bray Wyatt. But WWE is not content to leave things at Wyatt being pissed that Reigns beat him in a match with the MITB ladder match spot on the line. At the conclusion of the segment between Bray and Roman, Wyatt said he wouldnt dare mess with Reigns right now, not so close to Fathers Day. The line sounded a little odd, but a few moments later, Wyatt produced a still from the fatherhood commercial Reigns had recorded with his daughter last year (which had aired again earlier in the night, presumably as a setup). Wyatt then proceeded to sing Im A Little Teapot, which Roman did in the commercial. If WWE learned nothing during the subpar feud between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, its that involving superstars young children just doesnt work how you think it might. Sure, they probably wont go the route they did with Reys son Dominick and have Reigns daughters parental lineage challenged and put her custody on the line in a match, but this still is just wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rabigER3ow0 And it adds really nothing. Is WWE doing this to show Roman is a tremendous dad and hero to all? If they wanted to have a superhero who does anything to save his family, WWE should have rehired Chris Masters a few years back.
