One night after WWE made history in having all three former members of the Shield occupy the main event and hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, WWE steamed right along with Raw Monday night. The program set a few new rivalries up, kept others going and managed to stay interesting throughout.

We saw new world champion Dean Ambrose introduce himself to the WWE Universe and soak in their cheers. We also saw his challenger(s) for Battleground announced well in advance, pitting Ambrose against former running buddies Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The Wyatt Family returned to terrorize audiences everywhere, but ran into the power of positivity, drawing a belly laugh from Bray.

Fans also witnessed the return of the Boss herself, as Sasha Banks finally got some camera time, protesting Womens champ Charlotte retaining her title using rather devious methods. That means that Sasha is now in the hunt for the title and likely will be stepping up her game in the coming weeks. Also, AJ Styles forced his running buddies to apologize to Cena for interfering in their match at Money in the Bank.

It was an interesting night for WWE, although you still get the feeling everyone is treading water until the brand expansion draft takes place on the 19th. But at least were sitting above water.
