7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 15)

4. Summer Rae Wins?

Talk about an out-of-left-field win. Summer Rae, who hasn€™t had a televised match since June 2015, upset two-time Divas Champion Paige Monday night in a match that was ignored almost as quickly as it ended. Does that sort of thing sound familiar? It sounds eerily familiar to how women€™s wrestling was treated before the so-called €œDivas Revolution:€ women wrestle in short matches that go nowhere and end in a rollup of some sort, while the results are instantly forgotten. Summer tried her best to look convincing, and the match itself wasn€™t terrible, but fans sat on their hands €“ unless Paige yelled to them that this was indeed her house. Otherwise, it was really quiet. But probably the biggest indictment was Paige€™s reaction afterward. Summer hadn€™t won since April 2015 €“ even longer (June 2014) if we€™re talking on Raw. And Paige€™s reaction to losing to someone who hadn€™t won on Raw in 20 months? She kinda shrugged her shoulders as if to say, €œOh well.€ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF7n_1eatV8 It was just awful all the way around. It€™s not like Summer Rae is suddenly going to be considered a contender for Charlotte€™s Divas Championship. It probably will be forgotten next week, making this even more perplexing. But hey, we had a Divas Revolution here, so everything is fine.
