7 White-Hot Wrestlers That BURNED OUT Overnight
6. Tessa Blanchard
Sometimes, the stain on a wrestler's reputation is so bad that it follows them everywhere they go. No matter what ring she steps foot in, Tessa Blanchard gets a nuclear reaction from fans at ringside. Not because of her ability to draw heat, but because of a deplorable 2020 racism scandal that she instigated.
After being picked by WWE, alongside Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, to be part of the 2017 Mae Young Classic, Tessa Blanchard eventually became one of the top names in TNA's heavily praised Knockouts Division. This all came grinding to a halt when Blanchard put out a tweet suggesting that women wrestlers need to stand up for one another, only for a whole host of women to step up and accuse Blanchard of abusive behaviour. This wasn't one or two people either. It was a roster's worth of talent.
The worst of the allegations against Blanchard involved her spitting in a black woman's face in Japan and calling her the N-word. This allegation was reaffirmed by many different parties. It has irreparably damaged Blanchard's reputation with fans wherever she goes, with the chant of "she's a racist" being audible whenever she is given TV time in the USA.
