8 Wrestlers WWE Pushed In The WORST Way Possible

1. 'The One' Billy Gunn

'Bad Ass' Billy Gunn is one of the most recognizable talents of the Attitude Era. As part of D-Generation X and alongside Road Dogg in The New Age Outlaws, Gunn found a new lease of life for himself after falling short of the big time in The Smoking Gunns through the New Generation era.

After years of domination with Road Dogg and winning the tag-team championship 5 times with The New Age Outlaws, Gunn had a good thing going as 'Mr Ass'. While that feels like a ridiculous thing to say out loud, it fit perfectly in an era where asses were very much part of the WWE landscape. When changing gimmick to 'The One' Billy Gunn, he gained a great new entrance theme and a new haircut, but lost all momentum and relevancy.

Gunn won the Intercontinental Championship from Eddie Guerrero on the 21st November, 2000 episode of SmackDown, but lost it less than three weeks later. This felt like it hindered Gunn more than helped him, and he found himself without a place on the historic WrestleMania X7 card a few months later as the gimmick failed to get off the ground. Gunn later had a new lease of life with Chuck Palumbo, so 'The One' didn't kill his WWE career, but it certainly had him on life support for a minute there.
